Ocean Maya Royale, Riviera Maya

A very nice, quiet, smaller adults-only resort with a welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff were amazing & so friendly, especially our butler Allein, and the person in charge of the Privilege towel stand & area (I didnt catch his name unfortunately). We were happy with our Privilege experience & were well taken care of. I do feel like this area of Mexico tends to get more seaweed than the Cancun areabut that is out of the resorts control of course.

Loved it. Loved the place. Beautiful, not too big, looked after. Food was beautiful. Drinks yummy. They're happy to fill up whatever size cup you have if you have your own. Cocktails are made fresh and are delicious. Rooms are big and comfortable. Humidity is a killer so you'll need air-conditioning on constantly... Loved the buffet food. Visited the restaurants also. Tipping the person on the door helps getting the table quicker... Lovwd Blue Moon and Japanese restaurants. Food was delicious and staff really nice. We were not privilege and cannot say we felt like we missed out. Had everything we wanted and more. Beach is gorgeous. Plenty of beds. Beds by the pool get reserved qullicker...so if you do want one you should put your towel down around brekafst time. Before arrival we did ask for upstairs room and at check in were assured we got one. But we didn't... so that was little disappointing. Mini bar and room service is nice to have. All free. Plenty of good tv channels too. So you won't be bored... Hopefully we'll get to come back one day

Best stay! We stayed for one week and every day enjoyed different food, experiences. All of the staff are so friendly and hardworking. The experience team are so passionate about their work and make everyday so fun! Moises made our trip extra fun! Thank you Moises!!!

Review: July 27 - Aug 3. 6 women celebrating 40th birthdays. Chose this resort as it was smaller and close to the nightlife in PDC. Wanted relaxation with the opportunity to jazz it up if desired. Overall, this was a good resort to visit. We paid just over $1750 pp and $2100 pp CAD for double and single occupancy, respectively. 2/4 of us are very well-traveled, 3/4 of us are somewhat well-traveled, 1/4 of us are limited in our travel. We appreciate the following that this resort has generated. Upon discussion, none of us would clammer to return, and feel we could get greater value for the money we paid elsewhere: That said, we still enjoyed our time here overall. Rooms: Decent. Spacious. Blocks 17 + 18. All booked non-Privilege and no consistency between what was offered: some had a bottle of wine waiting on arrival, some didn't. Some had a full soda/beer/chip stocked mini fridge, some only had a couple beer and a soda. One had no hot water. One had $100 taken from two different spots in the room (in the pockets of hung/folded clothing, not in the safe.) One had to have maintenance come out 2x to fix the A/C. Check your windows: A couple of us had unlocked windows on arrival. Grounds: Well maintained overall, a little tired looking in some areas. Beach: Meh. This area of Mexico doesn't always have the greatest beaches, especially this time of year. We did walk up/down the beach and found that OMR definitely had the nicest beach area of anywhere about 20 minutes north of it. Staff did a good job of combing it. No issues finding a chair. Restaurants: We ate at each restaurant and enjoyed the meals. No wait as non-Privilege guests to be seated. The buffet was always plentiful and enjoyed for breakfast. No one got violently ill. Room Service: Great. Took about 40-60 minutes to arrive from ordering. Entertainment/Staff: The staff overall were lovely and friendly. The entertainment staff were great around the pool, and the entertainment in the evening was enjoyable. Wish the DJ played later/longer than an hour, but it was nice to have! Take the walk to the cenote, especially in the Summer heat! Spa: Enjoyed by 4/6 of our party. Everyone said the ambiance was lovely. Facials and body scrubs for $130 USD. PDC: $60 USD round trip. Felt safe the entire time. Stopped by Mandala (local/touristy) for some dancing, then Bar Loco (more local) for some more dancing.
